Snow!

Well, would you believe we couldn't make it to church this morning?! Being from Ontario, we should have been the first ones there! But roads aren't cleared as well and as quickly as in Ontario, and there are more hills here... Nick tried very hard to get out of the driveway, but our little car just wouldn't get farther than a few feet. Last night I cleaned the house to a shine, made tons of soup and baked for company....only to have to cancel because we're not sure if it's going to get worse! It's still falling very heavily at 11 am.
Lydia, Robyn and Nick are outside right now, making a fort and trying to keep up with clearing the driveway. It's funny that every time they turn around, the path they just cleared is covered in white again! That's why I'm warm and dry inside...no use shovelling 'till its done!
My parents have a hummingbird feeder outside and a fat little hummingbird came and drank for at least 5 minutes!! Just sipped and sipped and sipped...must be tanking up for a flight South! Shouldn't they be gone by now? Do hummmingbirds even fly South? Guess I'll have to look it up!
Here are a few photos taken this morning. We're sure glad to have our camera back! Last night Lydia must have taken off with it (she actually knows how to turn it on and take photos!) and we didn't notice until this morning when we wanted to take some shots...we searched the WHOLE house...in every drawer, under every piece of furniture, even in the garbages (yuck!). No one could find it! When we asked Lydia where it was, she said "There!" and pointed in five different directions. No help.
Then, as we got everyone bundled up and stepped outside, Nick found it laying in the stroller! Phew!
So here are some shots- beautiful, hey? I know this doesn't happen often in BC, and it melts quickly, so we took advantage of the opportunity and took lots of photos!

That is a REALLY cool idea with the recycling box!!! Vanessa keeps talking about how she wants to make an igloo this winter, and I keep telling her she won't be able to do a proper one because we need enough solidly packed snow for her to cut out big blocks, but now we can just tightly pack it into the recycling box and we'll have igloo blocks! Thanks so much for the great idea!!!
Yes! Nick built an igloo last year and it worked great!
