We had a lovely celebration for Dad's retirement yesterday... he came home from church (after we all had to rush to beat him home!) to balloons and a bannner, champagne and all of us waiting on the front porch. We had a nice BBQ and delicious cake... and the kids enjoyed s'mores and a fire in the pit.
After the party started to end and the kids were in bed, an amazing thunder and lightening storm began way off in the distance. It slowly came closer and we watched from the balcony. It reminded Nick and I of our Ontario summers. It was hot and a bit muggy all day, and then the electrical storm in the evening....just like what occurs so frequently during the summers there. But now, it is raining...but it hasn't for a long time, so we're not complaining!

Sounds like fun!! I loved the thunderstorm too, it reminded me of summers in Kamloops where lots of thunderstorms happened as well. By the way, do you want to get together sometime soon??

Hi Lisa! Every so often I peek at your blog and enjoy catching up with your family! As I read about your Dad's retirement, would you please pass on our congratuletions to Simon & Michelle. We wish them God's blessing as they find their way on this new phase of life.
Hope to see you all soon at Derek & Karen's wedding!
