Goodbye Tension, Hello Pension!
My Dad is officially retired today, after over 40 years of working! Congratulations, Dad! He has had many jobs in his life... we always used to joke about "what Dad would be if he grew up" lol
He's been a life guard, orderly, nurse, psychiatric nurse, highschool teacher,a salesman for Ross Laboratories (selling medical equiptment to hospitals such as incubators) on the board of directors for Grace Maternity hospital and Vancouver General Hospital, and Director of Mental Health for the government (Ministry of Health). I've probably missed a few...I'm sure there's more in there!
Last night we celebrated his "freedom" with a nice sunset walk at the beach, and tomorrow we're going to have a BBQ with the family. He already has four luncheons and dinners set up with collegues... must have made a lot of friends along the way!
Happy retirement, Dad, and may God bless you and Mom in this new stage of your lives!

very nice pics. Congrats to your dad!
Congrats on your dad's retirement. 40 years is a life time so he certainly deserves the rest. Your mom hasn't changed a bit, still looks wonderful.
Congrats!
And GREAT pictures -- I love the first one of your parents! :o)
Okay,so how do they get to not look any older then when they started working when the rest of us from that time look....ancient?
congratulations on your dad's retirement. my poor dad still has a good 15 years left of working.
