Sports Day
Yesterday I had the privilege of helping out with Robyn's kindergarten and grade one class for their Sports Day. What a lot of fun! It was a perfect day- sunny and warm but with enough of a breeze to keep the kids cool. It was fun to watch Robyn in the context of school, seeing her interact with the other students and seeing her (lack of) athletic ability! lol- I had to laugh watching her run the "long distance run". She was last, swinging her arms back and forth and looking all around her while she ran, in typical Robyn style...always aware of her surroundings, but not really paying attention to the task at hand!! I also have a better understanding now of why she is so loud and bossy to Lydia when she gets home from school. She is so timid and shy and quiet at school, and follows the lead of everyone else, so when she gets home she has to re-assert her leadership as big sister! She has a whole day of being quiet to make up for.(: Thanks, Chris for taking and sending me some photos of Robyn doing the long jump! I tried to post them, but it didn't work....maybe later.
And on Thursday we had our very first visitor to our new house! We were painting one of the bedrooms and painting the brick of the fireplace (from ugly, dirty off-white with brown grout to clean, bright white) when a van pulled in and there was Marg VB at the door! She had a nice "welcome" card and planter to put in front of the house, so hopefully it looks a bit more lived in... Thanks very much, Marg! For those who don't know, Marg is actually my second cousin...her Dad is my Mom's uncle. So we'll be living close to family! (:

Okay - gotta send me your address so I can check it out! :-)
